影片中學生的年齡大約在十七八歲，正是對事物有著自以為是的看法的年紀，一旦對事情有了自己的看法就很難接受別人的意見。Mr. Keating并沒有把自己的想法強加給學生，而是通過讓學生印象深刻的舉動--站在桌子上，讓學生明白一個再簡單不過的道理：當你覺得自己正確的時候，一定要嘗試從不同的角度看問題，只有站在不同的角度，你才可能發(fā)現(xiàn)自己原本并不了解的地方。這部分的臺詞自然就成了本片的經典臺詞之一。
