China's economic prospects, US ties, high on Davos agenda

Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao is scheduled to give a special address on the country's newest development strategies on Thursday while China's economic prospects and its relationship with United States are high on the agenda of the four-day annual meeting of World Economic Forum, which starts today in the Alpine skiing resort.

Li is leading a delegation of senior officials in charge of economic development and commerce.

Li is going to inject a note of China's confidence to the worldwide politicians, business leaders and other participants gathered at this forum, of which the theme is "mastering the fourth industrial revolution."

Li is expected to talk about China's strategies of realizing economic transition and how it will continuously contribute to the global growth amid major international challenges.

Jin Liqun, president of the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, which was inaugurated this month, has also attracted a lot of attention during his debut at the annual gathering of thoughts and ideas.

"My programs are quite busy and meetings are following one after another," Jin told China Daily on Wednesday.

Kevin Rudd, former prime minister of Australia told China Daily that he is going to chair a debate on the trends of the China-US relationship later today while he focus his attention to trigger debates related China.

In addition, seminars on China's relationship with the United States, China's economic trends, its manufacturing strength, the buzzwords `economic new normal' and its economic program during 2016-2020 have been scheduled during the four days.

For the forum, robot technologies, the migrant crisis, terrorism, climate change, oil price plummeting are among the major topics that will be debated.
