Schedule of Danish Queen and Prince Consort's visit to China

Danish Queen Margrethe II and the Prince Consort will pay a state visit to China from April 24 to 28.

Thursday, April 24

There will be an official reception of the Queen and Prince Consort in Beijing by?Chinese Presidential couple?including an inspection of the honor guard at the Great Hall of the People. They will later meet with President Xi Jinping, and participate in a state banquet.

Friday, April 25

The Queen and Prince Consort will meet with the State Council in Fanghua Garden, visit companies and institutions, attend the opening of a business conference focused on sustainability, launch the Danish culture push in China and visit the Forbidden City.

Saturday, April 26

The Queen will visit Novo Nordisk's Research and Development Center and the Ming Tombs and take part in a foundation stone laying ceremony at Sino-Danish University Center. Afterwards the Queen and Prince Consort will leave by high-speed train for Nanjing where they will meet with the Party Secretary in Jiangsu province and participate in a banquet.

Sunday, April 27

The Queen and Prince Consort will visit the museum of the Nanjing massacre. Afterwards, they will travel by high-speed train to Suzhou where they will attend a signing ceremony, visit the Humble Administrator's Garden and participate in a foundation stone ceremony at LEGO.

Monday, April 28

In Shanghai, the Queen and Prince Consort will participate in the opening of an innovation and investment conference and the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Danish-Chinese shipping agreement. They will also visit a Danish design event and Danish companies and sail on the Huangpu River.
