Migrant workers paid $16 million in cash

Migrant workers are expected to be paid ahead of Spring Festival. However, some cry and others laugh.

Some 100 million yuan ($16 million)in cash was laid out at a property sales center to pay wages for over one thousand migrant construction workers in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, huanqiu.com reported on Monday.

The biggest payment was reportedly more than three million yuan, and several payments were over one million yuan.

To ensure the safety of the money, the center was equipped with powerful security. A temporary transaction stall dispatched by a bank was also set up for paid workers to save money.
