An average of 1,733 offenses were committed every day, an increase of 65 percent over 2010's average of 1,049.

Police are to strictly monitor public entertainment venues with restaurants, hotels, bars and other locations with all-night opening hours targeted for spot checks and patrols.

The traffic administration will be at full strength to check on drunk driving at night and will also conduct selective tests during daytime to keep hungover motorists off the roads.

Severe measures will also be taken to crack down on gambling during the tournament.
