Would you fork out $180 (about RMB1,120) to stay the night in the cell of a notorious criminal? People are doing just that in Roermond, the Netherlands. The Het Arresthuis recently had a multi-million-dollar makeover, which has turned the 150-year-old prison's 105 holding cells into 40 luxurious rooms: 24 standard rooms, 12 deluxe rooms, and 4 suites, suitably named The Jailer, The Lawyer, The Director and The Judge. Where once there were thin mattresses, cold concrete floors and communal showers, the rooms now feature bold artworks, modern furnishings, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and coffee machines.(See photo)
