The Shanxi provincial statistics bureau has reported that technology-related products replaced energy-related projects, in 2012,as the main source of Shanxi exports, with mechanical, electrical, and high-tech products accounting for more than 76 percent of total export value.

The data shows the province’s exports and imports amounting to a total of $15.04 billion, for the year, for a year-on-year increase of 20 percent, with exports at $7.02 billion and imports at 8.03 billion.
