In 2012, the Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size (Industrial Corporate Enterprises with an annual operating income of RMB 20,000,000 or more) numbered 4,783. Their industrial added value grew 3.7%; collective enterprises increased 2.5%; shareholder enterprises rose 13.6%; enterprises invested by foreign companies and by compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, increased 9.9%. By industry, light industry increased 11.2% while heavy industry rose 12.0%.
The, Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size finished a total output of RMB 519. 979 billion in Hi-tech Industries, up 14.0% year-on-year, or 39.8% of the total industrial output value finished by Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size, an increase of 1.0 percentage from the beginning of the year. The production value of ten 100-billion-level industry chains amounts to RMB 1,090.341 billion, accounting for 75.6% of that of the Industrial Enterprises above the Designated Size. The production value of strategic emerging industries above the designated size amounts to RMB 342.365 billion, up 17.6%.


Industrial enterprises above the designated size realized the total pre-tax profits of RMB 125.528 billion, up 11.8%, with after-tax profits of RMB 67.07 billion, up 9.7%. Operating incomes totaled RMB 1,375.198 billion, up 12.6%. The capital maintenance and appreciation ratio was 107.49%. The sales ratio was 98.65%.
