New railways will be opened to help reduce the cost of ceramic logistics by 30 percent in Faku county, which is administered by Northeast China’s Shenyang, according to an announcement on Sept 26.
Faku county has been dedicated to the production of ceramics since 2002, and is now the largest production base in Northeast Asia.
In the first six months of this year, the total output value of ceramics production in Faku reached 3.1 billion yuan ($469.73 million), while export sales amounted to $40 million.
However, the high cost of logistics is limiting the development of ceramics in the county. To improve the sector’s competitiveness, new railways will be opened to lower transport costs.
Six railways — Daqing-Dalian, Daqing-Dandong, Daqing-Yingkou, Daqing-Panjin, Daqing-Jinzhou and Daqing-Harbin — will lower costs for Faku’s ceramics industry.
In the future, new railways to other parts of Northeast China will be added to facilitate the transportation of ceramics from Faku.
