Themed “Seeking 10 Symbols of Culture from the Yangtze River,” the first China (Zhangjiagang) Micro Film Contest aims to interpret Yangtze River culture from the perspective of the public and depict people and things along the river through cinema. It will help people feel the vitality of Yangtze River culture and increase people’s awareness and understanding.

Zhangjiagang hosts the contest with the support of the China Film Directors’ Guide and has set up a strategic cooperation with Sina.com. The contest collects micro films with prizes nationwide and shows the diversity of Yangtze River culture by using the Internet and major network media. Meanwhile, it also provides a place for young filmmakers to showcase their creativity.
