Suzhou city of Jiangsu province ranked first on the 2013 Q2 tourism satisfaction index list of China, according to a report released by the China Tourism Academy on July 11.
Among the 60 listed cities, Suzhou is the only city reaching the satisfying level Chengdu, Huangshan, Beijing and Qingdao follow Suzhou as the other four on the list. Urumqi, Xining, Shijiazhuang, Lhasa and Lanzhou are the last five cities on the list.
The index figure was 73.15 in Q2 this year, decreasing by 9.21 year-on-year and 4.60 from Q1. The average satisfaction continued to decline this year, the report shows. Tourists are less satisfied with the attraction environment, social and economic conditions, and security. Satisfaction among Chinese tourists fell mainly because of city construction and management. The degree of foreign tourists decreased sharply and the number of complaints continues to increase.
Tourism officials in the 60 cities failed to focus on what tourists care about and didn’t meet their demands, according to the report.
