Guizhou's service industry achieved an added value of 203.85 billion yuan ($32.78 billion), increasing by 12.7 percent in the first three quarters in 2012, said the Guizhou Provincial Statistics Bureau. The rate has topped the country for three consecutive quarters, 4.8 percentage points higher than the national average (7.9 percent), Guizhou Metropolitan Daily reported.
In the first three quarters of 2012, the added value of the service industry made up 46.3 percent of provincial GDP, higher than the primary and secondary industry. The service industry makes significant contributions to provincial economic development. The transportation, communication and storage sector; postage sector; and finance and non-profit sector in the service industry grew faster than other business sectors in the province. The sectors grew by 14.8 percent, 14.3 percent and 13 percent, respectively.
