China Cultural Media Group signs cooperation agreement with Pingtan

China Cultural Media Group and the administration committee of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone concluded a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing on March 18.
Both parties will introduce top cultural resources, promote a number of cultural projects and create a number of cultural brands in Pingtan in order to develop a famous “International Cultural Island” both at home and abroad.
The closest point to Taiwan on the Chinese mainland, Pingtan is the largest island in Fujian province and the fifth largest in the country.
The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone was established to explore ways to improve cross-Straits cooperation.
The strategic agreement means to implement the guiding principles of the 18th CPC National Congress and the Sixth Plenary Session of the 17th CPC National Congress. It also seeks to put into practice the General Development Plan of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone issued by the State Council and to carry out the Cooperation Agreement to Stimulate the Development of the Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the Straits signed by the Ministry of Culture and Fujian province.
According to the agreement, China Cultural Media Group and the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone will utilize their advantages to cooperate in constructing a public cultural service system, conserving cultural heritage, developing cultural industry and reforming cultural systems.
Both parties will participate in cultural project construction in Pingtan and cooperate to elevate Pingtan’s international popularity and strengthen core competitiveness.
The aim is to make Pingtan a base for cross-Straits cultural innovation, communication, cooperation and development as well as a distribution center for artwork.
China Cultural Media Group will lead the promotion of cultural development in Pingtan by attracting more top cultural enterprises, famous cultural institutions and projects to the region.
Liu Chengxuan, the president and general manager of China Cultural Media Group, talked with Gong Qinggai, the director of the administration committee of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, and a Party member of the Fujian provincial government before the signing ceremony.
Liu Jie and Yang Shoumin, the secretary and deputy secretary of the CPC committee of China Cultural Media Group, respectively, also participated in the talk.
