According to the city of Zhangzhou’s quality supervision, inspection and quarantine administration, Fujian province, where Zhangzhou is located, the city had 371 batches of small trade goods from Taiwan that passed inspection in the January - July period, with a total value of $943,000. This was an increase of 24.3 percent over the same period last year. There were no small trade good exported from the?city to Taiwan in the period.
Statistics show that the force behind the growth was cakes, cookies, grains, and aquatic products, with cakes and cookies accounting for $25, 2600 worth, an increase of 59 percent year-on-year, and grains for $133,500, or 106 percent year-on-year, and aquatic products up 43.8 percent from the same last year, at $63,000.
Zhangzhou also imports alcoholic drinks, flavorings, nuts and fried snacks from Taiwan.
