More than 50 corporations based in Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park and 28 South Korean corporations recently attended the China-South Korea Industrial Cluster Innovation Cooperation Seminar at the park.
The event was sponsored by the Torch Center of China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, and representatives from both countries gave presentations of their corporations, and discussed further cooperation.
The Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, or Torch Center, aims to strengthen the environment for technological innovation and to promote high-tech industrialization.
Qian Jinqiu, section chief of the international cooperation office of the Torch Center, said the center signed a memorandum with Korea Industrial Complex Corp (KICOX) last June,and the industrial clusters of both countries aim to build an efficient platform for further communication. He also said that the science park was selected to host the event because of its convenient facilities and location and its successful experience in international cooperation.
Zhang Xiuying, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of the science park, said that the venue is a core area of Zhongguancun, which is a national model innovation district. She also said that two recently released documents - the 2013-2015 implementation plan and Haidian district’s route map of strategically emerging industries - include detailed goals, development ideas and policies to increase cooperation between industrial clusters of China and South Korea.
