Sina Corporation recently laid the cornerstone of its headquarter building in Zhongguancun Science Park, known as China's Silicon Valley.

The building will cover an area of 2.9 hectares in Zhongguancun Software Park. Its construction, totaling 100,000 square meters, is scheduled to finish by 2015.

Emerging from Sitong Lifang Information Technology Ltd and Huayuan Information Company, Sina was founded on Dec 1, 1998 with its website Sina.com.

Sina will play a key role in building the industrial chain in the science park. It will help the software park develop into a source for strategic emerging industries with innovative technologies.
