A gathering of folk dances

The third China Yangge Festival will be held from May 23-27 in Jiaozhou, a county-level city in Qingdao, Shandong province.

Yangge is a collective folk dance popular in many parts of China. This year's China Yangge Festival gathers more than 10 yangge dance groups from all over the country, including those from Shandong, Yunnan and Henan provinces.

Side events of the festival include a summit on yangge dances and a folk craft exhibition.

The China Yangge Festival is a biennial event founded in 2008.
