China to keep currency at `rational and balanced level'

China would keep its currency at a ``rational and balanced level'', Ma Kai, head of China's State Development and Reform Commission, made the remark as he outlined the country's economic development plans.

``We will constantly improve the mechanism for determining the exchange rate for the renminbi and keep it stable at a rational and balanced level,'' Ma told the National People's Congress.
