Simplifying intl trade on the east coast

By Zhuan Ti | China Daily | Updated: 2016-10-28 08:22

Recently, the Department of Commerce of Shandong province announced its second batch of new foreign trade enterprises, with the Jimo International Trade City and Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park on the list.

It is recognized as one of "Shandong's industrial cluster areas of the year 2016". There are only eight such areas in Shandong.

Last year, the Jimo International Inland Port was recognized as a cross-border e-commerce industrial area. With this year's recognition of the International Trade City, Jimo, a county-level city in eastern Qingdao, now has two such areas, taking the lead in the number of cross-border e-commerce businesses in the province.

To promote the transformation and development of trade and commerce, Jimo set the goal of building "the most influential international trade city north of the Yangtze River". The Jimo International Trade City covers an area of 35 square kilometers, with more than 20 key markets and malls.

Jimo began developing logistics and storage services as ways to boost its cross-border e-commerce. Jimo has introduced seven large road logistics projects, and built warehouses with a combined space of more than 200,000 square meters. The city contains a complete international industrial chain, from warehousing and logistics to finance and affiliated services.

At present, Jimo International Trade City has 16 public service platforms, one comprehensive inspection and testing center and one brand incubator offering services for market businesses and related enterprises in product design, testing, technology research and development, sales and promotion, as well as supply chain management.
