The Hawaiian breeze(That's Shanghai)
Updated: 2007-09-10 10:52 With a blend of culinary traditions from across Asia, capturing the essence of Hawaiian cuisine is a difficult feat. But Island Breeze, with its exotic decorative flora and simple, island-inspired interior, proves itself capable. In the Hawaiian style, the service was relaxed-perhaps overly so. But our appetizers were well worth the wait; the ahi poke (salad of raw ahi tuna, RMB 68) and the wonderfully moist Hawaiian-style spareribs (RMB 58) were both well-flavored and delicious. Unfortunately, the typical breakfast dish, loco moco (rice topped with a beef patty, egg and brown gravy, RMB 48) was bland and overly greasy. However, the meal's presentation was exceptional, and if this cafe manages to work out a few kinks, it will be a delightful, if slightly off-beat, dining outlet. Island Breeze |
