A base for training judges from China and Central and Western Asia countries was unveiled in Gansu province on Tuesday.

The base, established in the Provincial High People's Court, aims to improve judicial communications between the Supreme People's Court and courts from the Asian countries, according to a statement of the China’s top court.

Meanwhile, judges from the Asian countries can be also trained in the base, it said.

Also on Tuesday, Global China Law, an online platform built by the top court to provide legal services, was put into operation.

"In the past, the platform was only in Chinese, but this time we launched the English version, hoping to contribute to solving disputes brought by the Belt and Road Initiative," Zhou Qiang, president of the top court, said during the Silk Road International Forum on Judicial Cooperation in Dunhuang, Gansu.

"The platform will also help countries and regions involved in the initiative to research legal backgrounds and cultures of each other, as well as to improve the rule of law," he added.

The top court said it is also planning to build a tribunal specializing in handling a rising number of cross-bordered disputes, in a move to ensure the initiative can process effectively.
