Xi attends tree planting activity, calls for understanding, protecting nature

BEIJING -- Chinese President Xi Jinping urged people, especially the young, to understand and protect nature while attending a tree planting activity in Beijing on Wednesday.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and other top leaders visited East Beijing and planted saplings of different types of trees.
