Book based on Nobel prize winning research wins Wenjin Book Award

A book based on interviews with scientists including Nobel Prize winner Tu Youyou about the research and development of Chinese medicine won the 11th Wenjin Book Award on April 23, along with nine other titles.

The Wenjin Book Award, named after Wenjinge, or the "chamber of literary tastes", one of China's most renowned imperial libraries, is the highest book award in China.

Started by the National Library of China in 2004 and first celebrated in 2005, the award aims to choose the best books published in the previous year in three categories—children's book, social sciences and popular science, for the public to learn knowledge and to cultivate their taste.

The winners are announced at the National Library of China, including Laozi Yi Du (An interpretation of Taoist founder Lao Zi by former librarian of NLC Ren Jiyu), Interviews on 523 Mission and the Research and Development of Artemisinin , Oral History by Zhou Youguang about the Last 100 Years, From Fish to Human, Instellar, My Father's Paintings and These Are the 24 Solar Terms.
