Although a significant portion of Hongkongers find cohabitation acceptable,
those who are willing to allow men and women to live together without marriage
as an ultimate goal remain a minority, a telephone survey has found.
The telephone survey, conducted by the Kowloon Federation of Associations
among 474 people in February, found that about 40 percent accepted cohabitation.
But 34 percent said they accept it only if it's a temporary or transitional
arrangement. Only 6 percent said whether or not they are married makes no
difference.
