Cao Jianhong has been a taxi driver for the past 15 years in Changsha, Central China's Hunan province. Unlike other drivers who do the normal day shift, his work starts at 5 pm and usually ends at dawn.

Due to working long hours at night, Cao suffers from pain and stomach ailments. Although his job is hard, he said he had to do it to support his family.

The flag-down fare in Changsha is six yuan ($0.98). Like other taxi drivers, Cao wants the decision-makers to increase the rate as that would increase his income.

When asked whether being a taxi driver pays enough, Cao said that besides the other extras, his average daily income is more than 100 yuan.
