Beijing Intellectual Property Office issued the Beijing Invention Patent Rewarding Regulations yesterday, in a bid to encourage intellectual property creations and applications and protect intellectual property rights.

The reward will be appraised and awarded biennially from 2008. There will be a total of 51 winners for a session and the top winner can receive a 1 million yuan prize. The office is to help all winners apply patents for their inventions and realize commercial applications.
