And babysitters are in high demand as a result of the baby boom. A company in Shanghai has set up a childminding club, with prices starting at 1,600 yuan per day. Parents must spend at least 50,000 yuan a month.

Instead of babysitters, the company will provide a team comprising a doctor, nurse, nutritionist and psychologist to take care of the mother and her baby. It said over 20 women had already booked the service.
