During the two sessions, national lawmakers and political advisers wearing ethnic clothing often draw the attention of cameras and the public. Among them, Yang Yuni, a post-1995 Hani woman and national political adviser, stood out. During passage interviews, she showcased an intricately embroidered decoration sewn by her grandmother, symbolizing the deep cultural heritage she represents.

Growing up near the Hani terraced fields — a UNESCO World Heritage site — Yang Yuni has been dedicated to preserving both the land and its cultural traditions. While still in university, she founded the Yuni Cultural and Arts Heritage Center. This year, her proposal focuses on integrating intangible cultural heritage into primary and secondary school education.

It is because the proposals are deeply rooted in the everyday lives of the people that they truly reflect their voices, contributing to the continuous improvement of Chinese society and quality of life.
