As spring approaches, parks and green spaces across Shanghai are seeing colorful and bright flower blossoms and fresh green sprouts, ushering in the vibrant season.
Diverse flower varieties, including peonies, plum blossoms, camellias, wintersweets and Rhododendron lapponicum (Lapland Rosebay), are in full bloom in the city's green spaces such as the Chenshan Botanical Garden and Zuibaichi Park in Songjiang district, Century Park in Pudong New Area, the Shanghai Botanical Garden in Xuhui district, Xinzhuang Park in Minhang district and the Guyi Garden in Jiading district.
Situated within Shanghai's Sheshan National Tourist Resort, the Chenshan Botanical Garden is hosting a flower exhibition featuring peonies and Rhododendron lapponicum. Consisting of four sections, the exhibition showcases dozens of peonies and Lapland Rosebay varieties, decorated with other diverse flowers such as plum blossoms and orchids. Also, products derived from peonies are on show to promote the peony culture, including cosmetics, tea and supplement products.
