Ningde in East China's Fujian province is home to the country's largest yellow croaker aquaculture base, located in the Sandu'ao sea area.

CATL, in partnership with State Grid Fujian Electric Power, is spearheading the development of an offshore fishing raft microgrid demonstration project. This initiative integrates wind and photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, and a digital energy management system to ensure uninterrupted power supply for offshore fishery facilities, enhancing the use of renewable energy sources.

At the Sandu'ao offshore fishery rafts, a mix of vertical and horizontal-axis wind turbines, floating photovoltaic stations on the sea surface, and rooftop solar panels on fishery houses not only ensures reliable electricity supply for offshore aquaculture projects but also promotes the utilization of clean energy for sustainable development.

Technological advancements have made yellow croaker farming greener, more ecological, and safer, enabling continuous supply throughout the year.

The combined efforts of wind and solar power not only provide real-time electricity but also allow for surplus energy storage using batteries, facilitating the sustainable use of clean energy. The project is projected to incorporate approximately 280,000 kilowatt-hours of clean energy annually, reducing carbon emissions by around 243.6 metric tons.

With a focus on developing new quality productive forces, Ningde is paving the way for a new era of ocean ranching in eastern Fujian.
