Last year, some 326,000 people visited prosecuting authorities to participate in procuratorial activities, receive law education and learn about the work of prosecutors, according to an official from China's top procuratorate.

Li Xuehui, head of the General Office of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, said on Thursday that inviting residents to prosecuting departments helps promote public supervision, transparency and the implementation of the whole-process people's democracy.

He revealed that prosecutors nationwide organized more than 5,600 activities in 2024, focusing on many hot issues, including protecting women's rights, safeguarding juveniles and advancing the development of procuratorial technologies.

Li also emphasized the increasing use of technology by Chinese prosecutors to optimize websites and create online platforms, making it easier for people to access procuratorial services and improve efficiency.

"Prosecuting authorities will continue the optimized services, with more efforts to better serve people to ensure the public's rights to participate in procuratorial affairs," he added.

To further enhance people's legal awareness and guide prosecutors in case handling, the top procuratorate also issued several batches of influential cases in 2024, covering areas like employment fraud, illegal fund raising, online pyramid selling and intellectual property, he noted.

"We will open more cases to uphold justice, meet the public's legal demand and help prevent legal risks," he added.
