Fujian launches first business environment development plan
The government of East China's Fujian province recently introduced the first-ever Fujian Business Environment Development Plan (2024-29) in the region, in line with international standards and prioritizing business concerns.
The comprehensive foundational document sets out the guiding principles, overarching goals and key tasks to establish a top-tier business environment in Fujian in the upcoming years.
With a clear focus on goals, the plan aims to enhance Fujian's business environment significantly over about five years by emphasizing marketization, rule of law, internationalization and facilitation.
The strategic approach is expected to drive notable improvements in business activity and development quality, advancing the province's high-quality development on all fronts.
Taking a holistic view, the plan addresses critical issues for enterprises by establishing a framework that includes fair markets, transparent legal environments, open and convenient investment and trade conditions, among other things.
Moreover, the plan adopts a problem-oriented approach, targeting key concerns raised by businesses during research and addressing deficiencies in the business environment layout.
To streamline and standardize government services, the plan proposes advancing a "one-stop government services" initiative, aiming to enhance task efficiency. The initiative seeks to simplify processes for businesses and the public, making services more accessible.
Emphasizing digital empowerment, the plan aims to modernize government operations through technology. By increasing the use of information technology, promoting data reuse and implementing initiatives like the "no need for proof" initiative, the plan envisions a more efficient and intelligent government system.
Additionally, the plan includes significant provisions for Fujian-Taiwan integration and the expansion of pilot programs.
