Shanxi welcomes Spring Festival with various cultural tourism festivities

As the Year of the Snake approaches, various scenic spots in North China's Shanxi province have carefully planned a series of culturally immersive activities, hoping to offer visitors a memorable Spring Festival experience.

From Jan 29 to Feb 12, Zhangbi Ancient Fortress Scenic Area will host the eighth Authentic Chinese New Year event, offering visitors an immersive rural version of traditional Chinese New Year celebrations.
The event will feature a variety of folk performances, including dragon dances, acrobatics, lion dances, and traditional opera. Additionally, the scenic area has prepared a rich array of interactive experiences for visitors, allowing them to experience traditional Chinese New Year activities such as making dumplings and fried meatballs first-hand.
From Jan 29 to Feb 5, the House of the Huangcheng Chancellor will host the 2025 Chinese New Year Temple Fair and Lantern Festival, featuring five major thematic cultural and tourism activities. During the event, the scenic area will also showcase nearly 100 outstanding performances.
The Xinzhou Chinese New Year event will take place from Jan 28 to Feb 13. Throughout the event, attractions such as the snake year lantern exhibition, folk cultural tours, and Guangxi Zhuang ethnic song and dance performances will converge in Xinzhou Ancient City, providing visitors with a visual treat they won't forget.
During this Spring Festival, each city and scenic spot across the province will draw from their own culture as they present their tourism offerings, offering a variety of unique experiences and intangible cultural heritage performances to enrich the holidays.
