Italian brand celebrates Chinese New Year
Italian brand Miu Miu is celebrating Chinese New Year with a short film directed by acclaimed screenwriter and filmmaker Wei Shujun, featuring Miu Miu brand ambassadors Liu Haocun and Zhao Jinmai. Titled The Encounter and filmed at Yi Lau Yi, a bustling Cantonese tea restaurant in Beijing, the story captures the two young actors enjoying their drink, cat-walking and grooving to the music as they are entertained by a local band.
The actors are dressed in a collection that captures the spirit of joy and New Year celebration, featuring oversized sweaters and blouson jackets, preppy tweeds and checks, jewel-encrusted denim, aged leather and cotton poplin shirts and shorts, all styled with signature ballerinas, loafers, strappy kitten heels, Plume and New Balance X Miu Miu sneakers, glamorous opera gloves and delicate pearl chains. The Penny, Wander and Arcadie bags, offered in exclusive iterations, take center stage, accompanied by baseball caps, rose-tinted eyewear and playful bag charms, including a crochet-knit serpent and, in select stores, personalized Chinese knots. Logo zip-front hoodies, T-shirts and cotton underwear in lucky red are also available to commemorate the occasion.
From January 10 to 22, Miu Miu hosted a series of celebrations at Raccoon Records in Shanghai, Liwan Park in Guangzhou and the Shichahai Rink in Beijing. Popular singer Lexie Liu's single, Come Dance -Miu Miu Encounters, commissioned for the occasion. The single was officially released on multi-platforms on January 10, including QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, Apple Music and Spotify. Guests received the Fortune Book for the Year of the Snake 2025, featuring the 12 zodiac signs alongside the Miu Miu CNY vinyl by Lexie Liu.
