Participants of the 2024 Belt and Road 'Jin' Hub International Communication event explored the bustling Chuanshan port zone at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, Zhejiang province, on Monday afternoon.

Against the backdrop of towering cranes and an endless sea of containers, participants from China and nine other countries were captivated by the impressive scale and efficiency of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. The port lies where the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road intersect.

Mercedes Fernandez, a Mexican student from the Communication University of China, was particularly struck by the grandeur of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. She said the port's connectivity facilitates international trade and people-to-people exchanges. "I'm so excited to find my country's port on the shipping route," she added.

"I heard about this port before but never saw it in person. When I saw it, I couldn't believe it was this big," said Mohammad Hashem Mohammadi, an Afghan student studying at Shanghai University. He emphasized that the significance of the port lies in the "connection between different parts of the world".

Syed Agha Hassnain Mohsan, a Pakistani postdoctoral research fellow at Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, lauded Ningbo as an "amazing" city. "Ningbo is really amazing for business, trade, and especially maritime communication and transportation. It has the globally recognized Ningbo-Zhoushan Port," he added.
