Sanya, Hainan province, was recently selected among the top 10 trending global destinations on Booking.com's travel predictions for 2025. Known for its diverse selection of family-friendly hotels and entertainment options, the city has earned the reputation of being a "paradise for children", according to the travel website.

According to the company's search data, Sanya is experiencing a 176 percent year-over-year increase in inbound tourists for the upcoming new year travel peak, according to Anthony Lu, regional director for Southeast Asia and China at Booking.com, who spoke at a launch event for the 2025 travel predictions in the city on Thursday.

"Sanya boasts a well-developed tourism infrastructure, offering a comprehensive range of facilities and services. Its natural environment is ideal for wellness and recuperation, featuring excellent facilities and reputable hospitals, making it an attractive destination for health-conscious travelers," Lu said.

Albert Yip, director general of the Sanya Tourism Board, said, "Sanya's successful inclusion in Booking.com's 10 trending destinations worldwide is not only a recognition of our relentless efforts and effective marketing strategies but also a testament to our achievements. As the only Chinese city on the list, Sanya is poised to embrace the world with an open attitude amid the backdrop of the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
