New business models drive rural revitalization
Located on the north bank of the Fuchun River, Meirong village in Tonglu county, Zhejiang province, was once a renowned plum blossom viewing spot. In recent years, guided by rural revitalization efforts, Meirong village has integrated the natural and historical cultural resources along the river.
This integration has led to the introduction of handicraft farms, bayberry wine distilleries, boutique homestays and recreational vehicle camping sites to promote rural development and revitalize the ancient village with renewed vigor.
The farm and homestay projects in Meirong village have further propelled the leap in rural revitalization. Huo Fan, a coffee shop owner from Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has witnessed the transformation of the village through these projects.
