Since the beginning of this year, the State Grid Weihai Power Supply Company has been focusing on "platform-based planning and control" solutions to offer a more scientific layout for industrial planning and rural revitalization and provide local oyster farmers with more efficient and reliable electricity services at Shandong province's "Oyster Town".

Relying on its unique geographical advantages, Haiyangsuo town in Rushan, Shandong province, has developed its oyster farming industry and has been dubbed the Oyster Town of Shandong.

However, the extremely windy weather around the Rushan area has put strong demands on electricity supply equipment, technologies, and services.

Responding to the challenge, the State Grid Weihai Power Supply Company has upgraded the rural power network since the start of this year, redesigning and refurbishing 13 power distribution lines in the area to better safeguard the local oyster-farming industry.

For Du Fei, a local oyster farmer, the redesigning and refurbishing work carried out by the power company has been a shot in the arm and given him more confidence in raising more oysters.

"I will definitely rent more saltwater fishing pastures next year, with more reliable electricity supply," Du said.
