Centralized system enables efficient operation and maintenance
State Grid Henan Information & Telecommunication Company has adopted a centralized management and control system for power network security equipment operation and maintenance, a move proved to be effective and pioneering within the sector.
As of November 2024, the system has successfully managed nearly 100 special border security protection devices, involving more than 100,000 IoT terminal devices and more than 100 databases. It has processed more than 5,000 network alarms and configured more than 2,000 policies, shortening the power network inspection time by more than 90 percent.
For the next step, State Grid Henan Information & Telecommunication Company will continue to improve the system and deepen the exploration in special protocol traffic monitoring, analyzing and business behavior modeling. And the firm will further consolidate and improve network security protection capabilities, according to the company.
Since 2023, in order to comprehensively improve the company's network security equipment operation and maintenance, State Grid Henan Information & Telecommunication Company has set up a special working group, focusing on the company's network security protection and creating a power-specific network security protection equipment management and control platform, which is a centralized management and control system.
"This system has completely changed our previous work mode of logging into network security equipment one by one for operation and maintenance management, thus improving the work efficiency to a large extent," an employee of the company said.
