The Xiao Ke Musical Theater introduced a monthlong "Free Drama Training Camp" project in Beijing on Friday, centered on the theme "Relieve Life's Stress, Let Theater Transform Life". The project, led by experienced instructors, is designed to uncover participants' full potential with top students given the chance to perform in the musical Steady Happiness. After only a week of enrollment, the camp was filled to capacity.

At the opening ceremony, founder Xiao Ke shared his motivations, acknowledging the flood of calls received from arts organizations and training centers that were curious about his initiative. He explained that his passion for theater emerged after his career in music, where he felt disillusioned by the commercial pressures in the industry. He emphasized that theater, to him, represents a pure love, separate from financial motives, and that this camp embodies his vision to share that love.

He also noted that the participants, ranging from professional singers to amateur music lovers, made him excited since there were so many people who shared his love for theater.

The Xiao Ke musical theater, nestled in Beijing's vibrant 798 Art Zone, has been in existence for 12 years, hosting popular musicals penned by Xiao Ke, showcasing his enduring passion for storytelling through music and theater.

Xiao Ke is a Beijing native, whose real name is Ke Zhaolei. He has a background in classical training and a musical career spanning decades. Renowned for his folk-pop melodies, he has released several albums and penned hits for notable artists like Faye Wong and Eason Chan. His iconic composition, Beijing Welcomes You, resonated widely, notably during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
