Beijing helps drive Inner Mongolia tourism
More than 100 cars departed from Beijing on Aug 16 to drive 2,000 kilometers across the Inner Mongolian autonomous region in 12 days as part of a culture and tourism initiative between Beijing and the region.
The event aims to strengthen bilateral collaboration, promote cultural and tourism consumption and facilitate the sharing of resources, exchange of visitors and joint creation of brands between the two regions.
Distinctive cultural and tourism promotional and business matchmaking events will be staged to help Inner Mongolia integrate resources, expand its market and empower local rural vitalization.
According to the popular travel platform Mafengwo, Inner Mongolia has become one of the most popular destinations for self-driving travelers.
Local authorities will strive to develop more distinctive and safe routes for travelers.
