Nishan Forum to release report on Confucianism
A report on the development of Confucianism in the past decade will be released during the ninth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations which will be held from Sept 26 to 28 in Qufu, Shandong province, the home province of Confucius.
The report will provide a comprehensive overview of the development of Confucianism worldwide in the past decade, Yang Jinwei, deputy head of the Shandong Academy of Social Sciences, said at a news conference held by the information office of the Shandong provincial government on Sunday in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong.
The report will be released at a sub-forum that focuses on world Confucianism studies.
Co-hosted by the Shandong Academy of Social Sciences, Shandong University and the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, the forum will attract more than 30 experts and scholars in the fields of Confucianism, Chinese philosophy and international Sinology. They are from countries including South Korea, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United States, New Zealand and Russia.
Participants will discuss on topics including Confucianism and the modernization of East Asia, as well as the response to global challenges.
Under the theme of "Common values for mankind and a community with a shared future for mankind - strengthening exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations to jointly address global challenges", the ninth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations will feature a number of activities, including a main forum, sub-forums, high-level dialogues, keynote speeches, and interviews with ministers and diplomats.
