The "35-year-old threshold" has become a topic of concern, and many are calling for the elimination of unreasonable age restrictions in job hunting and employment.

Indeed, individuals around the age of 35 often face career challenges, such as the pressure to juggle multiple roles, accumulate work and social experience, and find a suitable lifelong career path. Unfortunately, some employers tend to discriminate against older job seekers and prefer to recruit younger employees, believing the older ones lack vitality, creativity, and have limited career development paths.

However, this is a misconception as those around 35 are still in an active stage of creativity and with sound working experience. People around the age of 35 can still be highly motivated, and this is the peak stage of their ability development. They have rich knowledge and can better meet job requirements. They are also energetic and have accumulated some social experience, allowing them to cope with urgent and dangerous emergencies, solve problems, face challenges, innovate bravely, and promote the smooth development of various undertakings.

The relatively abundant labor force in China is undergoing a transformation, with the working age population decreasing, leading to a labor shortage. Workers' right to choose and speak will gradually increase. Additionally, the education, health level, and life expectancy of workers have significantly improved, creating conditions for workers to extend their working age. The impact of technological development on the labor market is also continuously increasing, putting forward new requirements for the technical skills and knowledge structure of workers. Meeting recruitment needs through age restrictions cannot solve the problem.

It is crucial for all stakeholders, including employers, individuals, and policymakers, to work together to eliminate age discrimination in the workplace and create a fair and supportive environment for all workers.

From the point of employment market, it is necessary to improve the system of labor laws and regulations, accelerate the legislative work of specialized fair employment or anti employment discrimination, and broaden the scope of anti-employment discrimination to eliminate discriminatory behavior. Employers should also change their mindset, broaden the channels for workers' career development, and stimulate their enthusiasm and creativity. Individuals must develop the ability and habit of lifelong learning, fully mobilize social forces, and establish a sound lifelong education system.

In conclusion, eliminating unreasonable age restrictions in the employment market is essential to promote the smooth development of various undertakings, reduce the phenomenon of career development obstacles caused by age growth, and enhance the competitiveness of human capital.
