The Taiping site in Xi’an city, Shaanxi province, dating back about 4,150-3,700 years ago, is a large settlement of the Keshengzhuang Culture, covering more than one million square meters.

After scientific and systematic archaeological excavations since March, 2021, relics of two ring trenches, various types of dwellings and more than 20 tombs as well as some sacrificial remains have been discovered. Pottery, stone ware, bone ware, shell ware, jade ware, and faunal and floral remains were also unearthed. The Taiping site is the largest and most complete settlement site with ring trenches from the late Neolithic Age found so far in central Shaanxi.
