Expert interprets nation's new COVID-19 treatment protocol

The latest edition of the national COVID-19 control protocol is more application for clinical practices in response to Omicron variants now prevalent in China, said an expert in respiratory disease.
Shen Ning, vice president of Peking University Third Hospital, explained major changes in the 10th edition of diagnosis and treatment protocol for COVID-19 in an exclusive interview with China Daily website.
One of biggest change is the name of the disease. It has been downgraded from "novel coronavirus pneumonia" to "novel coronavirus infection". And antigen test kits was included as a criterion in diagnosis, she said.
