Xi busy meeting world leaders
Editor's note: President Xi Jinping held a series of bilateral meetings in Riyadh with leaders of Arab states on Thursday and Friday during his visit to Saudi Arabia, where he attended the China-Arab States Summit and the China-GCC summit.
PRESIDENT XI JINPING:
- As the regional and global environments are undergoing profound and complex changes, the strategic and overarching importance of China-Egypt relations has become all the more evident.
- China is ready to deepen Belt and Road cooperation with Egypt, ensure the on-schedule and high-quality completion of the train project in the city of 10th of Ramadan and the Central Business District in the new administrative capital of Egypt, and make the China-Egypt Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone and other major cooperation projects a success.
- China is ready to step up cooperation with Egypt, and jointly advocate true multilateralism, uphold the basic norms of international relations, safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.
EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT ABDEL FATTAH EL-SISI:
- Egypt is glad to have a great friend like China and looks forward to further enhancing the Egypt-China comprehensive strategic partnership and promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields so as to deliver more good results.
- The Egyptian side firmly adheres to the one-China policy, and strongly supports China's position on Hong Kong, Xinjiang and other issues concerning China's core interests, and firmly opposes interference by any force in China's internal affairs.
