The village also has a 1,000-sq-m recreational center, where athletes can play table football, billiards, 4D games and a space capsule simulator to relax after their competitions.
"We've focused on every detail at the Paralympic villages. Take the barrier-free facilities as an example. All the doors at the villages can be opened or closed with one hand. Also the heights of the beds were lowered by 10 centimeters after the Winter Olympics last month for the convenience of the para athletes," Shen added.
"At the canteens inside the villages, the distance between seats has been adjusted to meet the needs of wheelchair users. At the Paralympic Village in downtown Beijing, for instance, we prepared 118 tables without seats for wheelchair users, while we kept 220 regular tables. We also prepared menus in Braille."
