Mutual learning

Life-size replicas of four rocky grottoes in Dunhuang, Gansu province, are being shown at Exchanges and Mutual Learning, an exhibition, at Shenzhen Museum to celebrate the brilliance of cultural legacies along the ancient Silk Road. The four caves, along with reproduced murals and Buddhist statues, present artistic magnificence of the treasure trove in Dunhuang, where different civilizations crisscrossed and majestic fruits were created that enthrall the world even today. Also on show are dozens of artifacts in testimony to the exchanges between the East and the West. For example, a gilt silver plate, which at the center shows Dionysus, the god of wine in Greek mythology. Found in Gansu in 1988, the object is believed to have been cast in the Roman Empire and transported to ancient China. The exhibition ends on March 20.

10 am-6 pm, closed on Mondays.6 Tongxin Lu, Futian district, Shenzhen. 0755-8813-2247.
