Charity gala held for MG treatment innovation
On July 2, a charity gala was held in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, as part of the first Chinese Summit on Innovative Medicine and Public Welfare in Myasthenia Gravis and Neurology.
During the gala, a drama telling the story of a woman who had myasthenia gravis was given by some myasthenia gravis patients. The woman in the play had difficulties finding a job and forming a family after she got sick, but she struggled to conquer the difficulties and found support in a community of patients with the same problem.
Other performances including dancing, recitation and pingshu, a traditional Chinese form of storytelling, were all given by patients.
Organized by the Beijing Aili Myasthenia Gravis Care Center, the summit was held from July 2 to 4. Titled "Medical innovation changes patients' future", the summit attracted more than 40 experts in neurology and 55 myasthenia gravis patients and their family members to discuss trends in medical innovations and clinical management experience.
