Height-of-luxury property offers commanding views of Shanghai
As the hotel's height enables a bird's-eye view across the whole city, guests can savor the view on both sides of the Bund and the Huangpu River, and can contemplate the city's rich historical evolution.
Moreover, the hotel is also full of artistic atmosphere. According to Zhao, the hotel is displaying more than 1,000 artworks by domestic and international artists. The 8-meter-high shikumen-the stately courtyard gates traditional to Shanghai-is one of the designs that seamlessly blends the East and West.
"The crystal red shikumen is a high tribute to the Communist Party of China and its birthplace of Xingye Road Shikumen. Besides, (being at) the height of 400-600 meters allows guests to fully appreciate the achievements that the Party has made in the country's reform and opening-up on both sides of the Huangpu River," Zhao added.
Intelligent technology is another highlight of the hotel. An intelligent system can detect whether there is a guest in the room so to control the room lighting, temperature and other systems. These can be tailored through an iPad, according to the preferences of the occupant.
J Hotel also features seven distinctive restaurants and bars with diverse cuisine, including Heavenly Jin, one of the world's highest restaurants.
The 422 sq m semicircular Soiree Ballroom is set on the 105th floor, and can be divided into two smaller fan-shaped spaces, allowing for banquets, weddings and parties.
